My Story
Every book should have a good story.
At the center of a story is a hero going through big challenges that shape and refine him. Depending on his descision on how to percieve this hardships (to be a victim or to be a steersman) he either becomes a villain or a hero.
My life is not a an exception to this concept:
Hang on to your youthful enthusiasms, you will be able to use them better when you are older.
Seneca (4 BC—AD 65)
Born in 90’s in Australia, a country, that was undergoing multiple changes. Sunset of the idustrial era and start of the corporate booming. This was representing both blooming opportunities and challenges to families at that time.
Parents would be forced to learn new specialities and children will have to learn how to swim a life a bit earlier.
Most of us, who were born then, remember their school days as chaotic and sometimes upseting time. But dont take this too dark - there were amazing memories, friendships and love stories too!
I remember how I always percieved myself as an artist and wanted to do things differently, but school would always be on my tail, trying to teach me “how to do everything right”. Some classmates were not helping either. It is hard to win as a 12 years old versus 200 y.o. inititution, but who cares, right? You just got to be moving forward and keep this spark inside of you.
Every small project I could take on. Every unusual assignment or a friend birthday coming - would get me excited that I can be myself regardless of what old lady with a strange makeup says at school.
I must give a huge credit to my parents here, because they always saw this and helped me with developing my initial interest to craftsmanship, non-trivial storytelling and being at artist.
After the school was over I finally was able to dive deep into woodworking, working with clay and painting. This is when I truely discovered a story of my grand dad, who was an exceptional woodworker and an amazing fella too! I still have his woodworking table to this day. A great man, who always spoke like the most ineresting and put together hero of a book. He was humble and loving human. ( Some people are just more alive than others, arent they? )
In next decade I was practicing and finding more and more ways to work with wood and most importantly with ideas. Put myself in challenging work evironment for some woodworking companies to see how things are done on a massive scale. And after some time I started teaching classes, where (you know it) I will never stop you from approaching Art your way.
You don’t know where you will end up, but you have to start, otherwise you know exactly where you will end up.
